Originally from Tokyo Japan, Julia started classical ballet when she was 3 years old and continued practicing for 15 years. She went to university in California. Her first meeting with yoga was when she enrolled in a yoga class just to have fun and to get an extra school credit.
After university, Julia moved to the Middle East to become a flight attendant.
5 years into her job, she started practicing yoga again to ground herself when she was exhausted from not being able to get enough sleep and rest, and looking for something more meaningful and lower stress.
She realized that yoga had become one of the most important things in her life, as it had been providing her opportunities to reconnect with her mind and body and accept who she is.
After giving up her career, Julia’s yoga practice started deepening when a friend invited her to the yoga studio in Honolulu, Hawaii. It didn’t take her long to enroll into the RYT200 and intensive Thai yoga massage training with her teacher Coco Zhang at Ohana Space Hawaii Yoga in 2018.
She has also completed the RPYT85 prenatal teacher training with Syaka Blakeny.
Julia’s playful, alignment-based, vinyasa slow flow expects you to move and sweat while flowing through poses, moving with the breath, reconnecting with the body and mind. She respects and invites all levels, encouraging students to move at their own pace and not compare themselves with others.
Julia is fluent in both Japanese and English.
